At Uig Candles…
I care that my candles are eco-friendly and as kind to the environment as possible.
I use a plant-based wax which is 100% natural soy. Cotton & linen wicks to give a long, clean, smoke free burn. Premium fragrances and essential oils are sourced from a company that cares about the planet. They are paraben and phthalates free, sourced in the UK and are not tested on animals and suitable for vegans.
I hand-pour my candles in small batches, using glass which is recyclable and reusable and aluminium containers that are lightweight, durable, resealable and recyclable and perfect for creating sustainable and portable candles.
Reducing my environmental impact…
I try to use the least amount of plastic possible. My hand & body wash / lotion bottles are made from PET which is recyclable.
I aim to reduce my environmental impact with every order I make. Even the tissue paper I use is completely acid free and FSC Certified and printed by a company that uses soy-based inks. A tree is planted in an area of need with every order.
I re-use as many of the delivery boxes as possible and use recyclable air cushion packaging, shredded card, white packing paper which is newspaper cutoffs and dissolving starch packing peanuts. The boxes that are used to pack your orders are recyclable cardboard.
Local Charities
At least 5% of our profits go to charities.
It is important to me that I give back to my local community and one way of doing this is by supporting local charities. This year, Uig Candles, is partnering with The Leanne Fund and the Doves Corner Baby Bank (Oisean à Chalman).
